Questions, answered
What is Nutritional Therapy?
The application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences in the promotion of health. Registered practitioners assess nutritional imbalances and give personalised rather than one-size-fits-all recommendations, and may use functional tests. BANT practitioners do not diagnose or treat disease, and Nutritional Therapy is not a replacement for medical advice.
What happens in the initial consultation?
An in-depth discussion building a timeline of your health story, your dietary intake, food preferences and lifestyle, informed by a pre-consultation questionnaire.
When will I see results?
It can take up to 3 months to restore nutrient status, though most people see results sooner.
Is it suitable for everyone?
Nutritional Therapy is not suitable for people with cancer, eating disorders, epilepsy or chronic kidney disease, who will be referred on. If you're unsure, contact jodie@jodieabrahams.com.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes — it is compatible with all treatments at the clinic.
What should I do before my consultation?
Complete the Nutritional Therapy Intake Form (including a 3-day food diary) at least 3 working days before your appointment, and sign the Terms and Consent.
